Dear 5th grade Parents/Guardians,
Welcome! We are excited to be working with you to help your child grow this year. Working together, we can achieve this goal. Please read the following information regarding our daily subjects, our expectations for your child, and general information you should know. Thank you!
CLASSROOM COMMUNITY
Inside each classroom, our emphasis is on treating others with kindness and respect. We will try to “catch” students who demonstrate kindness towards classmates and teachers. We will be filling up our buckets with these names every month. We will insist on good manners: Good Morning, Please, Thank you, etc. Please reinforce this at home.
READING
Here are a few tips to enrich your child’s reading:
RELIGION
What an exciting year this will be for all! In addition to learning about our faith, we will be focusing on prayer, liturgy, and scripture. Our book’s website www.webelieve.com has many fun activities and games to correlate with what we are learning in school. We will also do Family Life in January.

The goal is neatness. We will review printing and cursive.
HOMEWORK
Homework will be assigned daily. Students will use the required assignment book to copy assignments as well as notes and reminders for activities at school. Please review and sign the assignment notebook each night and check that your child’s assignments are complete. Missing homework assignments will be noted on the incentive card as a check and also with a note sent home that must be signed and returned.
THURSDAY WHITE ENVELOPE
Every Thursday, envelopes will be sent home and should be returned (by the following Monday) and signed by a parent. These envelopes will contain important information from the office/FSA
